The Azure VMware Solution (AVS) is a cloud service provided by Microsoft that allows organizations to seamlessly extend their on-premises VMware environments to the Microsoft Azure cloud. It essentially enables you to run and manage your existing VMware workloads in Azure without the need to rearchitect or refactor them.
During a failover, or whenever a datastore is re-signatured VMware will append snap-PREFIX-DataStoreName. In some cases, this will break automation, and in general you may not find your datastore! This blog will cover how to get Site Recovery Manager to rename the datastore to the original name after recovery.
When running operations against an RDM, you may need to know the backing volume. Unfortunately with RDM’s there is no easy way to identify this without doing a manual comparison between vCenter Server & the Array. This post will explain how to map an RDM to a Pure Volume to extract the Name and Serial number of the backing volume.
On July 28, 2021 Pure Storage released the latest version of their plugin version 5.0.0. Not only is this a new version, but it also runs on the new remote plugin architecture that VMware has released in vSphere 6.7U3 and vSphere 7.0+. In a previous role I have used Avi Networks and I love their load balancing solution. If you do not pay attention to the default settings, the Service Engines that handle load balancing deploy at 1 cpu and 2 gb of ram. With this blog I will cover how to change that if you have already deployed the NSX ALB and vSphere with Tanzu or any other Virtual Services.
In my previous post we covered how to deploy the NSX Advanced Load Balancer for use with vSphere with Tanzu. This post will go over the vSphere with Tanzu configuration to use that NSX Advanced Load Balancer
VMware has just released vSphere 7.0 Update 2! With this release NSX Advanced Load Balancer also known as AVI Networks is now a supported load-balancer alongside HA Proxy for vSphere Network deployments. This blog will cover how to deploy and configure the load balancer for use with vSphere with Tanzu.
Previously I explained how to use the vRealize Orchestrator Plugin 3.5 with vRealize Orchestrator and Automation 7.x. Back in November of 2020 we released the latest update to our vRO workflow package 4.0 which introduced support for vRealize Automation/Orchestrator 8.x! Our integration with vRA utilizes the vRO Plugin and allows users to self-provision their infrastructure using all the goodness included with vRA such as blueprints, approval workflows and reservations. Lets Dive in and take a look!
Welcome to my first blog of 2021! Its been a crazy year so far, but glad to be back writing. This issue is one that has been bothering me for some time in my vSphere 7 environment. Every time I logged into the vSphere Client i got the following error. “Error downloading plug-in. Make sure that the URL is reachable and the registered thumbprint is correct.” I finally had a few moments to research the issue and resolve it.
