Ive previously covered what’s new in the Pure Storage VMware Appliance and how to deploy it via PowerCLI, lets take a look at how to deploy the Pure Storage VMware Appliance using Terraform.

Now that the latest Pure Storage vSphere Client Plugin is available as a remote plugin is is now deployed as an OVA. I have put together this quick script to automate deploying of the Pure Storage VMware Appliance.

On July 28, 2021 Pure Storage released the latest version of their plugin version 5.0.0. Not only is this a new version, but it also runs on the new remote plugin architecture that VMware has released in vSphere 6.7U3 and vSphere 7.0+. Beginning with version 4.2.0 the Pure Storage vSphere Client Plugin had a whole slew of new features added, one of those features was the ability to integrate authentication with Pure1 allowing fleet registration of all your Pure Storage Arrays among other things. This does require a slight change on how you would normally register your arrays in the plugin, so lets take a look at how we can accomplish this!
